This was my 1999 Yamaha R6. To date I have owned four R6s, and this was by far the ballsiest of them all. This bike earned me the famed "Wheelie King" title here in Atlanta. I was consistently doing mile-long wheelies, and my longest to date on this bike was just over 3 miles, and just over 2 miles with a passenger. This bike was by far my favorite, and ran like a champ until the motor eventually failed after approximately 14,000 miles. Oil starvation was the suspected cause due to the distances of the wheelies I was riding. All of the R6's I've owned have been superb bikes, but none have really compared to this one. I bought a 1999 R1 the same day I bought this bike, which I later sold due to how impressed I was with this R6. Aside from straight-line speed, this R6 killed the R1 in every way. |
